Two Tree Island
- Two Tree Island
- Two Tree Island was reclaimed from the Thames in the 18th century. In 1910 a sewage works was built there, and from 1936 it was used for landfill. Remarkably, despite this history, it’s now a nature reserve run by Essex Wildlife Trust. There’s a man-made lagoon and a couple of bird hides, used by bird watchers.
